This free seminar for Penn faculty and staff will explore the surprising links between oral health and overall health. Dr. Joan Gluch, Division Chief and Professor, Clinical Community Oral Health at School of Dental Medicine will facilitate the session.
Most people know that basic oral hygiene—proper brushing, flossing, and nutrition—helps prevent cavities and gum disease. But the condition of your mouth can reflect much more about the rest of your body. At Oral Health 101, you’ll learn how the teeth, gums and whole oral system work as part of the body’s immune system.
