The 38th Annual Ben to the Shore charity bike ride will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 7am to 3pm. This popular ride stretches 65 miles from the Ben Franklin Bridge to Atlantic City, or you may choose the 30-mile course. All new riders who register by March 31st will receive a Team Penn Public Safety cycling jersey!
To sign up, or to pledge your support for the riders, the DPS Team page can be found here: https://www.ben2shore.org/Race/157458/Donate/In6rbgkydFbgFBv2
Riders will also fund-raise for the charity, with the goal of $250 per rider. We will provide email toolkits
and support you in the process. We will also plan group riding sessions for those who would like to ride
with others as you train. You can read the Penn Today article about the 2018 team to learn more about
the ride.
Please contact Sgt. Bud Donovan (Team Captain) at bdonovan@publicsafety.upenn.edu or Stacy Ritchey at sritchey@publicsafety.upenn.edu if you plan on riding or have any questions or concerns.
The foundation that supports this ride is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization:
The 38th Annual Ben to The Shore Bike Tour is a charity bike ride that raises money to provide necessary financial relief for the families of fallen or critically injured first responders and cultivate positive relationships and interactions between police officers and the children in the communities they serve. Proceeds also benefit local children’s charities and beneficiaries, including scholarships, rec centers, and school libraries.
