Janet R. Jakobsen’s new book, The Sex Obsession: Perversity and Possibility in American Politics is a study of the ways in which debates over religion and sexuality in American politics are embedded in a wide range of political struggles. This virtual event will celebrate the book’s publication through discussions with some of the many collaborative partners. Janet Jakobsen, Claire Tow Professor of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Barnard College, will be in conversation with Sydnie Mosley, SLMDances, Ann Pellegrini, Professor of Performance Studies and Social and Cultural Analysis, New York University, Pamela Phillips, Barnard Center for Research on Women, Dean Spade, Associate Professor, Seattle University School of Law, and Tourmaline, filmmaker and artist.
