Help Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia (AVP) find funding to expand the number of Philadelphians they can serve using your online research skills! With the dramatic increase in gun violence in Philadelphia, demand has increased for AVP’s free individual and group therapy, victim/witness services and school-based violence prevention programs for Philadelphians affected by violence–but government funding is restricted and limited. AVP will provide potential funder websites and ask volunteers to determine whether the funder’s guidelines indicate a good match for AVP’s programs. No prior experience is necessary to join this virtual volunteer effort. AVP and Penn Libraries staff will provide a brief training to familiarize you with AVP and how to conduct research online for this volunteer activity.
