Penn Museum’s outdoor summer concert series returns as Garden Jams, a low-key, high-chill, al fresco scene in Stoner Courtyard at the rose-gold hour. Unwind to world music by local Philly bands. Grab small bites and sips from food trucks and a garden bar fully stocked with wine, beer, and non-alcoholic refreshments. Feel free to BYO blanket and picnic essentials (just no alcohol please) and find your spot amid a hidden and historic urban oasis under the sky. Concerts move indoors during inclement weather.
While you’re in between sets…
Cool off inside the Museum. Admission is included with your Garden Jams ticket, and galleries stay open through 8:00 pm.
Hungry for some history? Catch casual pop-up tours of our newest exhibition, Ancient Food and Flavors, led by local high school students on July 26. Starts at 6:30 pm.
De Tierra Caliente is a Latin fusion band whose catchy melodies and Latin, Caribbean, and Brazilian rhythms inspire an irresistible North/South American party. Founded in 2014, this flavorful band from Philly and Puerto Rico has released two full-length albums and played hundreds of shows throughout the U.S mainland Puerto Rico, Colombia, and Brazil. De Tierra Caliente delivers the sabor and spice and alegria of warm-weather countries to American audiences, where formidable winters and nose-to-the-grindstone work ethic sometimes overshadow simple pleasures like sharing a meal with friends or going out dancing. These songs in Spanish, English, and Portuguese sing out the bright colors and familiar warmth of a South American kitchen.
