Join the Master in Law Program at Penn Carey Law for a timely and engaging discussion on hot topics in constitutional law with Professor Marci Hamilton, Professor of Practice in Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania and Founder & CEO of CHILD USA.

Professor Hamilton will explore constitutional questions at the heart of current debates, including:

  • Was the Trump Administration’s pressure to fire Jimmy Kimmel unconstitutional?
  • Can the President refuse to spend funds on a Congress-created and funded program?
  • Can Congress create agencies and limit the President’s ability to fire their heads?
  • Can the President fire generals based on gender, race, and/or appearance?
  • Can the President threaten a private university with funding cuts for criticizing conservative views?

This program will not only provide insight into these critical issues but also offer an overview of Professor Hamilton’s Spring 2026 ML course, American Constitutional Law (LAWM 5050), offering Penn students, faculty, and staff without a background in law the opportunity to dive deeper into these issues.

The session will conclude with a Q&A with Professor Hamilton.
